After spending my first week in Thailand, I didn’t feel that far from home. Bangkok is a bustling city that felt very similar to New York. There are street vendors everywhere and cute little markets to buy trinkets and gifts. One thing I was not used to was being able to bargain with the people to negotiate the price down, which was an interesting experience. Aside from the city look, Bangkok did have some beautiful hidden gems, as well. We visited multiple temples, including the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, it was an amazing site to see. These places were beautiful works of art and I had never seen anything like it before. Overall, I really enjoyed my first week and am looking forward to see what’s in store in Chiang Mai!
