Ciao! Last week, we traveled to Florence. Although we were only there for three days, we all had an incredible time. On the first day, we went to the Uffizi Gallery. It had so many famous, beautiful art pieces that my breath was literally taken away. Afterwards, we went to the Duomo, which was enormous! We decided to walk the 463 steps up to the top of the Duomo. It was a very long, tiring trek up the stairs, but the view at the top made it all worth it! The next day, we visited the Academy, which is where the original David is. To see such a famous piece of art in real life was surreal. I have seen Michelangelo’s masterpiece many times in pictures, but it was definitely much bigger and more life-like in person. Now, we are in Volterra, a historic town in the beautiful region of Tuscany. The mountains are incredible to look at, and it is a much slower pace here than the bustling cities we were previously in. After this, we travel to Venice, and then back to Rome. I cannot believe the trip will be over in a little more than week. I am having such an incredible, life-changing experience here, which I know I will never forget! Arrivederci (that means goodbye in Italian)!
