Spain: Alhambra and Soccer

Submitted by Joseph Hinton on the 2018 fall semester study abroad program in Granada, Spain…

Week two was similar to week one in that each day was busy and everyone was exploring the city together and having a great time. However, class was now getting serious and I definitely felt that I needed to get a move on studying and less on getting tapas. This was also the week we stretched our feet out more increasing the area of the city we commonly explored. Especially Sunday when we got to visit the Alhambra. It was awesome in every way possible for someone who loves history, to get to see artifacts and rooms hundreds of years old. I did not catch everything our guide said about the palace, but from what I did hear and what I read, I got the feeling that this place was the one from 1,001 nights, and of course the views of Granada and the surrounding Sierra Nevada Mountains were amazing. That was not all I did that day, later on, I organized a group to get 10 or 11 of us to see a Granada CF game. The game was excellent with the team playing well and winning and it was cool to see people react to the atmosphere of their first soccer game especially in Europe. Overall week two was great with lots of things to do and see.
