A month ago, I was packing for Italy with butterflies in my stomach. I was nervous about the classes I was taking, being in a country where I’ve never been and most importantly, making friends. I did not know anyone coming into this progam other than seeing the familiar faces at the monthly meetings.
After the first week, I found my friends and I couldn’t be happier. We will always have a special bond by being in Italy together, traveling, eating and living together. It’s amazing how a few weeks can start life-long friendships. I’m grateful for the people I’ve met and the memories I’ve made. I just visited Verona with two of my new friends, and we never stopped laughing or exploring together. I’m truly grateful for this experience that UD’s study abroad gave me, not only for the cultural experience, but for the friendships that will last forever.
