Living in a big city such as Rome has many perks – endless restaurants, museums, history and culture. However, growing up in a small rural town, I’m still not really used to city living. It’s certainly more exciting, but I find myself missing the trees, mountains and nature of my New England upbringing. Today, my sociology class took a field trip to Aqueduct Park, which was really interesting. We walked for a few miles through the whole park and learned all about the ancient aqueducts. Besides learning a lot of fascinating history, I loved being surrounded by green grass and trees for the afternoon, and it gave me a little taste of home. Rome is filled with so many amazing historical sites that many tourists do not know about and I’m glad to have so much time to discover them.
