Italy: The Duomo in Milan

Submitted by Jenna Sherman on the 2017 spring semester program in Rome, Italy…

This past weekend was my first travel experience. My friends and I took a three-hour train ride to Milan, Italy for the day and it was definitely worth it! We went to the part of the city that had the Duomo. We ate lunch there and walked around. The Duomo was amazing, and it was a new experience for me. I’ve never been inside such a beautiful church before, let alone one that was built so long ago! It was truly amazing to be inside and see the architecture, stained glass windows and statues. I was also fortunate enough to be able to go to the top. This was the best part because of the fantastic views. Milan is very different from Rome, so it was cool to experience something a little different inside the same country.
