Normandy and Brittany

This past weekend, I was in Normandy and Brittany. It was beautiful! On Friday, we headed for Normandy. We stopped in a few different cities…Harfleur, Deauville, and then finally spent the night in Saint Malo. Each city was gorgeous…and surrounded by water!

On Saturday, we headed for the “Mont St Michel.” This was incredible. We also traveled through the Mont Saint Michel bay for about 2 hours with shorts and no shoes. This was so fun, and we even ran into a few patches of quick sand.

On Sunday, we went on a guided tour of Saint Malo and then we headed for Caen. We visited the “Mémorial de la Paix de Caen.” At this museum, we looked at the series of events in World War Two. It was very interesting. On Monday, we visited the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial. It was unreal to see the thousands of white headstones that marked the American soldiers that died here. It was very sad, but I am so happy that I had the chance to see this.

The weekend was awesome, but I’m so happy it’s still September…because there’s so much more to see in Paris!
