Week 3 (Jan 22- Jan 28)
I’ve only been in Rome for a few weeks now, and I already had visitors! Some of my closest friends from school came to stay in Rome for a few days. I took them around to some of my favorite places that I’ve found so far; the sandwich shop down the street from class, the coffee bar near the Trevi, the botanical gardens near my apartment, and more. Watching their reactions to the beauty of my neighborhood and city that I’ll be living in for months gave me a new sense of appreciation. It was like I saw my home for the first time again through their eyes and I was reminded of how amazing it is that I get to live in this city. I was proud to show off the city and everything I had already learned about it and its lifestyle. It was amazing to be able to share my new experiences with people I care about, and having visitors only made me feel more at home. (Submitted on February 8, 2024)
