Exploring London

This week, despite my many midterm paper assignments, I’ve made an effort to explore new areas of London. Before I arrived in Europe, I made a list in my notes of all the places I wanted to see and things I wanted to do. One of them was to explore the famous Foyles Bookstore. This five-level bookstore, located in the heart of Picadilly Circus, is well-known among book lovers across the globe, and I knew I had to see it before I left London. That being said, one of my class field trips ended just a few minutes walk from the shop. I spent about an hour browsing the shelves and soaking up the friendly atmosphere. The booksellers were super helpful and loved to share recommendations, it really was a book lover’s safe space. They even had a record section, art department, and cafe on the top floor. You could spend hours in there finding new and exciting books to get lost in. Luckily for my wallet, I escaped without doing too much damage. (Submitted on February 28, 2024)
