Mirador Tiquicia and La Paz Waterfall

Submitted by Alejandro Trujillo on the 2024 Winter SPAN program in Costa Rica…

During my second week here in Costa Rica, we went to the Restaurant Mirador Tiquicia. It was an amazing night filled with a city view of Costa Rica, typical food here and a live performance. The performance included various dance performances. Not only did we watch the professionals perform but we also got picked to join in and dance with the dance team. It was definitely a night that I’ll remember and has been one of the funnest nights here. During this trip, we were also educated on the different things that make the Tico culture unique such as its people, common phrases, and its coffee.

During my third week here in Costa Rica I had the opportunity to go to La Paz Waterfall Gardens. In this excursion, we saw amazing animals such as toucans, parrots, monkeys, jaguars, and butterflies. My favorite part of this excursion was the hour-long hike where we saw five different waterfalls ending with the biggest one named La Paz. It was my first time being in a rainforest for that long and  I got to experience nature here in Costa Rica. Before leaving, we all ate together at the buffet with an amazing view of the garden.
