Appreciating the Views of Greece

Drinking from an ancient prophecy fountain

My second week in Athens was no less exciting than the first. This week we took our first overnight trip, and ventured to the beautiful city of Delphi. During our stay in Delphi we had the opportunity to visit the Monastery of Saint Loukas, a cute little ski town called Arahova, and the Temple of Apollo. The Monastery was an exceptionally beautiful experience for me, as I have always found sites like this one very fascinating. The entire site was almost silent; a perfect place for reflection of my trip thus far, I thought about how I was already halfway through my trip, the worries of homesickness and travel stress seem so far in my past, and only a week and a half to go. One day during our overnight trip we woke up to a notification saying we were about to walk up 15 flights of stairs. By the top of the staircase I was truly exhausted, but the view was completely worth it. In general, this trip has definitely pushed my limits physically, but I think that feeling on top of the 15 flight high staircase perfectly encompasses my experience, difficult, but every moment has been so worth it. (Submitted on January 27, 2024)
