A Night in Volterra

Submitted by Sarah Sloan on the 2024 Winter Finc program in Italy

In my first few days of arriving to Volterra italy it has been some of the busiest days of my life. After a long day of traveling we got to explore the historic city of Volterra. I had arrived at campus and unpacked then got ready to head into town. As I arrived into town I immediately fell in love with the ambiance of this small town which one was inhabited by over 25,000 people in past years. The lights on the street immediately caught my attention along with the beautiful articture and cobblestone streets. I then ran into some locals who were very kind and gave us recommendations of places to vist before heading to our group welcome dinner at a restaurant called Dom Beta. The food was incredible and the restaurant had a wholesome family feeling about it. (Submitted on January 18, 2024)
