The Borough Market of London

Although London is a massive city in England, traveling throughout the city is not an issue. Public transportation such as buses and the tube will take you to whichever burrough you need, and from there you can easily walk to your destination. Just make sure you give yourself ample time for traveling!

After class one day, a few friends and myself decided to take a trip to the Borough Market, one of the oldest and largest food markets located in the city. We went to the closest tube station and began our walk to the market. On the short walk from the tube station we saw many of the popular sights of London such as Tower Bridge, London Eye and The Shard. We walked down a flight of stairs to be greeted by a welcome sign to the market.

The market was bustling with people and stalls. I was surprised by just how many cheese stands there are located in just one market! There were so many options ranging from the classic fish and chips to a turkish deli. My friends raved about the Argentinian steak sandwich while I salivated over the wild mushroom risotto. We continued browsing through the numerous vendors and decided that we definitely have to return before our trip is over! (Submitted on January 12, 2024)
