This week has been jam-packed! I had a rough flight, which landed at 6 am, and the day was off immediately! After checking into the hotel, the group toured the neighborhood. We saw the Accent building and the shops around Russell Square. The group explored more that night, and all went to dinner at a joint close to the hotel. We were there for a long time, getting to know
each other better and realizing how connected we all are because even though it’s a big school, Delaware is tiny.
The next day was orientation and the National Museum. We walked around for about 3 hours and still did not see half of it! After the first official class, we went to the Borough Market and got lots of good food and pictures, like the famous chocolate-covered strawberries. My roommate Cate and I got sandwiches and listened to live music.
We had a bus mishap getting to the show, and after taking a bus in the wrong direction, we ordered an Uber and got there just in time. It was so cool to do a backstage tour where we had to put on orange safety vests. We saw the three stages of the National Theater and where they make the sets and costumes. The first show of the trip was Witches, which was spectacular.
On our first free day, a group decided to see as much as possible. Saturday was filled with tourist activities like visiting Big Ben, Notting Hill, and the National Gallery. We intended to visit the Portobello Market and the Colorful houses, but we got there too late to see much. We spent most of the time in The National Gallery, which was incredible, and it was amazing to see paintings I had learned about in school. I am so excited to visit more museums and monuments!
