Italy: Getting Around Florence

Submitted by Lara Wood on the 2022 spring semester program in Rome, Italy…

This past weekend, my roommate and I got to visit Florence. This was the first time we had really tried figuring out various forms of public transportation. Until now, we had been traveling everywhere by foot! The process was actually a lot easier than I had expected, and very affordable! It definitely helped me gain some confidence to use transportation in Rome.

During our days in Florence, we received the hospitality of our Airbnb host, had the most incredible restaurant experience, saw beautiful museums and met a new group of friends. Meeting new friends was one of the things that I looked forward to the most while studying abroad. The group we met was actually a group of students who are also studying at John Cabot! Not only is meeting new friends making my experience here more enjoyable and homey, but it is also helping me create a larger network for my future.
