This was a week of exploring The Big Island – and different colored beaches. My favorite day of my previous week in Kona was hitting three different colored sand beaches in one day.
The first color: green! Green Sands Beach, though it wasn’t a bright green color like I expected, definitely was worth the journey! Upon arrival, we hopped onto a very bumpy ride: a twenty minute shuttle ride down to the beach. Once we arrived to the beach, I noticed how olive the sand color was. It was absolutely stunning!
The second color: black! The Black Sand Beach was my favorite, because of the many sea turtles! I was able to see three sea turtles on the beach, and I threw on some snorkel gear and saw one in the water as well. Not to mention how cool it is to be on a black beach – it was a prime spot to get some sunshine!
The third color: beige (aka normal)! After going on two unique colored beaches, it only felt right to hit one more beach for the sunset. All in all, it was another amazing day in Hawaii!
