This last week has been an emotional roller coaster. My partner and I had to say bye to the students that we have been following around for the last couple weeks, and it was very emotional because we grew to love the kids. We also had a meeting with the coordinators of the school to talk about feedback and possible changes they might make in the school. I enjoyed this experience very much and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of women to come with me to Barcelona! They have taught me so much without even trying, and this experience has been life changing for all of us.
St. Peters School of Barcelona has changed my perspective on many educational dilemmas I had before leaving the United States. Knowing that there are educators from all over the world that are older than me with some of the same dilemmas that I have, make me feel better. Education is constantly evolving, same as humans! As a future teacher, I have to start looking into the possible future problems of the world and thinking about how to solve them, instead of waiting until these problems arise to think about a solution for them.
Finally, Barcelona has been so great to me and my soul. Studying abroad should definitely be an experience that every student has access to. As mentioned before, this opportunity that I was given has opened so many opportunities for me in the future. I was able to network with many educators from all over the world and form connections in a school that empowers every student in a way that I have never seen before.
Thank you for this opportunity, University of Delaware!
