My last week in Lisbon has been filled with many emotions. While I am happy to go back home to my family and friends, I wish I could stay here forever. This study abroad experience has taught me a lot about myself and how I function in unknown environments. It has also taught me about the country of Portugal, the city of Lisbon, and the Portuguese culture.
One major idea that stuck out to me this week was the meaning of friendship. I came into this study abroad not knowing anyone, I was completely alone. After these past three weeks, I feel that I have made lifelong connections with the other students and I know these friendships will extend way beyond Portugal. This experience has been filled with lots of laughter and I will cherish the memories I made forever. I will always be grateful that I was able to study abroad, and I will always be grateful for the friends I have made.
