Hi everyone! I am very excited to have finally arrived in Limerick, Ireland; where I am studying abroad at the University of Limerick. I flew in from Philly on Monday, and the past couple of days have been amazing! I share a house with five other students, and just by chance we are all Americans. So far, I have met people from all over the world, including many of the Irish! This week has been all about getting acclimated with the camps and the new culture. The university has done a wonderful job acclimating us to help us prepare for any type of culture shock that will probably be coming soon. We have been on campus tours and today we went to a market in the city center, which is roughly 15 minutes away from the campus. I must say – the grass is the greenest I’ve ever seen. My favorite part about my house and the campus is the walk to class. The coolest part of the campus that I have seen so far is the pathway that leads from my house to campus. The path is parallel to the Shannon River, which flows through the county of Limerick. The pictures are different parts of my walk on the path where you can hear the river. Although the humidity is extremely strong, the air is crisp and walking everywhere is actually quite refreshing!
