Greece: Hard to Leave

Submitted by Sarah Minacci on the 2020 winter session study abroad program in Athens, Greece sponsored by the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures…

I cannot believe that three weeks here in Greece have already flown by so quickly. In just a few weeks time, I have seen so much of this amazing country with stops in Corfu, Thebes, Delphi, Corinth, Nemea, Nafplio and many other places. Athens now feels like a second home to me. I’ve gotten to know our little neighborhood very well and will miss the local bakery very much. I have made amazing new friends here whom I will be so excited to see back at Delaware. This was a life changing experience that I will carry with me forever. I am so grateful for the Athens Center for helping to organize such a wonderful program, for my professor who really helped us make the most of every single day, and for the genuine people I’ve met here that are making it so hard to leave.

I believe everyone should challenge themselves to embark on their own study abroad journey. It’s truly amazing how much you can learn about the world and yourself.
