Greece: Amazing Views

The last week in Greece has been so bittersweet. I started to feel very at home in Athens, and I became very comfortable with living there. I really did not want to leave. The beginning of the last week in Greece we spent four days in Nafplio, Greece. Nafplio was one of my favorite parts of the program because it was a beautiful beach town and the weather was gorgeous. My favorite part of Nafplio was going to the Palamidi Fortress. This fortress overlooks the entire city and it was one of the best views I have seen so far in Greece. Another highlight of going to Nafplio was going on a boat ride. The boat ride was amazing because it was sunset and we were able to see a lot of the town that we had not seen yet. On the way out of Nafplio back to Athens, we stopped at Acrocorinth. We hiked up to overlook the city of Corinth. It was such an amazing view, and it was really fun to hike. The hike was extremely long and tough, but reaching the peak made it all worth it.

The final highlight of this program was taking a day trip to Aegina, Greece, which is a Greek island about an hour away from Athens. This trip was so much fun. We spent some time at an archaeological site and a museum. After that, we had a few hours of free time before we got back on the ferry. It was really nice to shop around and go for a nice lunch on a beautiful Greek island. This was a great way to end the program because it was a really nice day spent with our class.
