I have been in Thailand for about a week now and have had a wonderful time. It has been an incredible experience learning about such a different culture. I thought coming into Thailand I would experience a large amount of culture shock, but I transitioned very well. The hardest part for me was getting used to the food as it is very different than I expected.
I have been in both Bangkok and Chiang Mai which have been very different cities. Bangkok was a very crowded city while Chiang Mai is a lot more laid back. Overall, Chiang Mai has been my favorite because of the excursions we did. My group visited an elephant sanctuary which was one of the coolest experiences of my life. We were able to feed, bathe, and learn about the elephants that were rescued from unsafe conditions.
We are spending two more days in Thailand before heading to Sydney, Australia. I am looking forward to learning about a whole new culture and continuing to taking in the experience.
