Italy: Cold Season

Submitted by Jeffrey Spencer on the 2020 winter session program in Luxembourg sponsored by the Department of Materials Science, the Department of Physics and the Department of History…

Being sick is never fun. Needless to say, being sick while traveling in foreign countries is even worse. This was my experience this past week. I got a cold that started during the week and has persisted through the weekend when we visited Italy. I told myself I would still have fun, even if I was constantly tired and coughing up a lung, and I did. It is possible. I just had to remind myself that this could be a once in a lifetime experience and I cannot waste it just because I was sick. You have to make the most no matter what the circumstances are, and I think being sick taught me that.
