After being in Paris for a week now, I can already say I’ve learned so much. This is only my second time in Europe and it’s been so interesting to see the differences between France and the U.S. as well as another European country, Italy, where I’ve traveled before. Since I took Italian throughout all of grade school, I was able to understand a lot of the locals in Italy. The hardest part about being in France would definitely be the language barrier. It’s been a great learning experience being in a country for the first time where I don’t understand the language at all. Although I have not been here for long, I have learned many of the French greetings. I look forward to seeing how much French I learn by the end of my program.
So far, I can say the most breathtaking part of my program has been going to the Eiffel Tower. This is a monument that I’ve seen countless times in photos and movies, but after seeing it in person at night I can truly say nothing could ever compare to its beauty.
We have already seen so much of Paris at countless museums and tours. I look forward to continuing my journey here!
