I’ve been in London twice before, but I’ve never come alone. To be honest, I didn’t expect it to be much different, but it was a whole new world from the very beginning! Day two was when it really hit for me that we were in charge of ourselves- besides needing to show up for the scheduled speakers, our only restraints were where our tube passes could take us. The speakers are just as good (most of the time, better!) than the time we spend exploring. In the first five days, nine people presented to our group and each one seemed to be better and more inspiring than the last. We’ve learned tips on design, advertising, writing, sculpture, and of course London’s culture. Besides immersing ourselves in the art world, we’ve been eating our way around the city. Curry, fries, chicken, falafel, desserts, cheese, duck, lamb, and so much more. And of course, gallons of coffee to fuel all of our adventures.
