This week was our final week here in Paris and it was a good one. The week started out at the Louvre. You hear so much about the Louvre and how beautiful and exciting it is, but to be honest, I didn’t really enjoy it. You walk around the extremely crowded halls just to get to the even more crowded paintings and sculptures to snap a quick photo and walk away. I’m sure it would be cooler for someone really into art and history, but I did not enjoy it. The next day, we went to the top of the Arc de Triomphe. You have to climb about a million stairs to get to the top, but the views were completely worth it. You can see all of Paris and it made me sad to think that my program was ending so soon. The next day, we went to breakfast at this really cool egg place and then to a jewelry museum. We were supposed to go to a textiles museum that I was really excited for, but then we found out the exhibition was closed. That night, we went to the opera and I was really excited for it, but it was extremely boring. The show didn’t make sense to me and it was hard to follow along, but it was a good experience. The opera house was beautiful. The next day, I went to a jewelry shop to buy a sentimental gift for my mom that I think she will love. This week we also had a river boat cruise. I absolutely loved it. It was so much fun to hangout with the whole group and bond while eating delicious food. We even got to see the Statue of Liberty! We went to Rue Cremieux which is this really awesome street in Paris and all of the homes are bright colors like pink, purple, and green. That same day, we went to the Fashion Freak Show as a group and it was a really great show. The designer I was assigned for the final project created this show so it was awesome to be able to see everything I read about. Yesterday, we took the Eurostar to London for the day and although I loved it, I wish we had more time there. We got to see the Dior Exhibition, the Tower of London, and Buckingham Palace. It was really cool. Overall, this time in Paris has been fantastic. I learned so much about so many different things and I am eager to come back one day.
Au revoir, Paris!
