I love Sydney! In my opinion, the city itself is a cleaner, more modern New York City. Sydney has beautiful views of the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Bridge. But what I also like about this program is that we got to explore outside of the city as well, like the Australia Walkabout Wildlife Park.
Yesterday, my study abroad group went to the Sydney Opera House. The show we saw was called Blanc de Blanc and it was a cabaret. It was very interactive and really got the crowd going. Now I can finally say that I saw a show at the Sydney Opera House! Across from the Opera was the Sydney Bridge that we got to climb today. The view was amazing! We went at night so we got to see the city all lit up. Plus, since tomorrow is Australia Day, we got to see the city setting up for all the activities and things that are going to be happening.
Outside of the city, we got to go to the Walkabout Wildlife Park. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle and see the animals in their habitat. When you walk in, there are kangaroos, emos and turkeys running all around the park. I’ve never seen a kangaroo in person; they’re so cool and their fur was so soft. I also got to pet a koala. However, we couldn’t hold the koalas because it stresses them out and can give them a heart attack. I’m glad I got to learn about all these amazing animals.
I’m going to be so sad when I have to leave Sydney. I look forward to my last few days here and have to make the best out of them!
