Submitted by Samantha Cuomo on the 2019 winter session study abroad program in Australia and New Zealand sponsored by the Department of Business Administration…
Dear Journal,
That’s a wrap for my winter study abroad session! It was been the most incredible five weeks of my life and truly an experience of a lifetime. I’m so grateful to have been able to visit two amazing countries, New Zealand and Australia.
I can’t say which country I like better. New Zealand was very adventurous, filled with hikes and trails. Meanwhile, Australia was more of a city vibe, more nightlife, and a ton of beaches. My favorite thing about New Zealand was going to Waiheke Island. It was a beautiful island with a ton of different things to do. In Australia, the best part of the program was my trip to Melbourne with a few friends on my free weekend. On that weekend, we went on the Great Ocean Road tour and saw amazing beaches, rainforests and the Twelve Apostles. The tour guide was super insightful and I learned a lot about the history and formation of the landscapes and natural features.
Although I’m sad this program has had to come to an end, I am forever thankful for the friends I’ve made, the places I’ve experienced and the cultural and educational things I’ve learned. Hoping to one day return to the land down unda!
