The first week of living with a host family in Granada, Spain was a completely life changing experience. I have already learned more about the Spanish language and culture this week than I have in any classroom.
I really enjoy the intensive grammar class that all students are required to take the first month of studying abroad. It has been a great review and the teacher is so engaging and helpful! I am also so so pleased with my host mom. At first, I was worried about living with a different family abroad, but it couldn’t have worked out better. Honestly, I haven’t heard of one negative experience from any of the students about their host families. Everyone in Granada is so welcoming and they all are willing to help us with whatever we need.
One of my favorite things that I have done so far is visit the Albaicín. We took a beautiful walk through the town and when we got to the top of the mountain, we had the BEST view of Granada and the Alhambra. Pictures don’t even come close to how amazing the views were.
