At the last minute, a group of us decided to go to the White Cliffs of Dover during the fourth week of the program. We didn’t realize how amazing it would be until we hiked up the cliffs and were able to look at the views from the top. It made me feel pretty insignificant to see the landscape from so high up. It made me put my experiences in perspective and it also made me realize how important it is to incorporate outside traveling into a study abroad agenda. Even though it was relatively easy to book a train ride, it made me excited to be more spontaneous with the trips I want to take in the future. The day taught me a lot about trusting the other people in my group and also that I cannot always control everything.
