Week three of my study abroad experience was centered on Paris Fashion Week. One of my classes is fashion photography, so this was very fitting. Our class had the incredible opportunity to work behind the scenes and view fashion shows. We worked both men’s and women’s shows. The first half of the week, I worked backstage at two menswear shows. The last half of the week, I worked four women’s couture shows and viewed two.
This was a truly unforgettable experience. Through my time at Paris Fashion Week, I learned so much about the fashion industry and expanded my photography skills. The shows were great outlets for numerous photography opportunities. The shows were very fast-paced, organized and detail oriented. Working backstage for women’s couture was overall my favorite experience during fashion week.
