Italy: Hoping for Good Karma

Submitted by Abigail Sawyer on the 2018 winter session program in Italy sponsored by the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics and the Department of English…

I am writing from the base of the Italian Alps in a small town named Paderno del Grappa. I am excited to arrive here and relax after a very eventful weekend in Florence. I managed to get pick-pocketed while in a tiny store buying pasta and we had to trek a mile across Florence with all of the group to meet the bus for transport. Beyond that though, Florence was a beautiful place, filled with many markets, adorable cafes, and great restaurants. I treated myself to steak Florentine, which if you like steak I would highly recommend, however you might want to fast for the entire day in preparation. Hopefully, my last two weeks abroad will be filled with good karma!
