Hungary: Gellert Hill

Submitted by Haley Cherrix on the 2017 winter session program in Austria and Hungary sponsored by the College of Education and Human Development…

It is so hard to believe that my time here in Budapest is coming to an end. As our last week was winding down, our group tried to get in any last minute sightseeing we could. One of those activities included climbing up Gellert Hill and getting the most amazing panoramic view of Budapest. The snow and ice made for an interesting and slippery climb, but it was totally worth it.

One of the greatest parts of this study abroad has been all the different foods we have been able to try. From tasting all of the different traditional Hungarian meals and desserts to even having the opportunity to make some of them in a cooking class. Goulash, a traditional Hungarian soup, has become an all time favorite of mine!

As excited as I am to come home to see my family, I am sad to say good-bye to this amazing city. This experience was one I have learned so much from and will cherish forever.
