The Iberian Peninsula

This past week has been a long one. Last weekend, we spent 4 days in Barcelona. We then had 3 straight days of classes and tours in Granada. We saw the Alhambra, the Sacromonte, and also saw the Granada Barocco. It was very cool to be able to visit all of these historical places, and we have all learned so much about the culture.

Last night, we just came back from our free weekend which we decided to spend  in Lagos, Portugal. We found this trip through Discover Excursions and it was an amazing trip. The tour guides were awesome and they showed us all over Lagos. We went through the city the first night and we also went to very popular restaurants. The next day, we spent our morning out on a boat seeing the grottos, caves and the amazing rocks. After the boat trip, we enjoyed the rest of the day on the beach. That night, the tour guides took us to what used to be known as “The End of the World” to watch an amazing sunset. It is known as the end of the world because back in the day when Europeans didn’t know about the Americas, they thought that spot was the literal end of the world. It is the southernmost point in Europe and it was an amazing view.

This week, we have a much calmer schedule. But this coming weekend, we will be traveling to Cordoba to tour the city!
