Never have I been in a room of people who care so much about something. I realized I was surrounded by people who all cared about the same thing. My class sat in the Rogers conference room in the J. Walter Thompson Ad Agency anxiously anticipating the day’s crit. We expected the worse, to be put down, but that didn’t stop Katy and I from staying up till 3:00 am to finish the brief. Twelve groups living in the same flats, with the same resources, and the same assignment presented 12 completely unique and flushed out ideas. J. Walter Thompson was dumbfounded, seemingly expecting the worst as well. Actually having professionals in the realm of visual communications get excited about your ideas is awesome! There is so much potential in all of us even if we have no idea what we’re doing, we blow it out of the water. “Fear’s a great motivator” Bill says. And he’s absolutely right, we’re scared of failing and losing the opportunity to do what we love. This program as a whole has been my most inspiring experience at the University of Delaware. I love being in London, it is such a great city, bu I am so grateful for the exposure to the creative industry this trip has allotted me.
