This week I had the awesome experience of traveling to Nara and staying with a homestay family. Living with a Japanese family for three days was so much fun and I learned a lot of new things. We visited a famous temple and some shrines, so I learned how to pray and purify myself before going into the temple. I also was able to experience life with Japanese children and how their customs and traditions are different. I also bought a Japanese style summer kimono called a yukata. I learned how to wear it and the process was pretty complicated. At Nara National Park, I fed some deer and took some pictures with them. It was really cool, but they also ate my map. This past week was one of the best weeks of my life.
