It is interesting how traveling can affect relationships so much. In the past two weeks, I have come to enjoy a travel mate’s company less and less. We had a situation in Venice and then again in Amsterdam that made me think less of them. You can enjoy a person’s company for weeks without really knowing how they will act in certain situations. It really goes to show that people can become completely different in new locations or circumstances.
Something else I have found interesting is how much of an effect weather can make on the enjoyment of a certain city or country. Last weekend, my travel mates and I went to Venice and Milan, but it rained in Venice and we enjoyed Milan much more. This weekend as well, we went to Brussels and Amsterdam. It rained in Amsterdam and we enjoyed our time in Brussels much more. Having nice weather while exploring new places makes such a huge difference in your opinion of those places in the future.
