Today our group went to the Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, a wildlife park that also hosts traditional Maori performances and greetings. We were able to see many species, both native and non-native to New Zealand, and on a private tour we were shown many endemic and endangered species as well. It was really impressive to see the transition the island’s environment and native species went through as a result of English settlement.
