Spanish Fairy tale

Submitted by Stephanie Rodgers on the 2016 winter session program in Granada, Spain sponsored by the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures…

So much has happened in the past week. After three cities, four plane rides, and a missing suitcase, I am finally settled into my host home for the month. For our first weekend in Spain, our group visited Barcelona, a beautiful city with so much history. Around every corner was a new site to see, whether it be a cozy coffee shop to get café con leche or a nearly ancient cathedral. I’ve felt like I have been in a fairy tale for the past week among the beautiful scenery.

Although there have been trials – losing my way back to my house, not being fluent in the language, TSA random selections, etc.  – I am already eternally grateful for this experience.
