Submitted by Scott Eisenhart on the 2015 winter session program in Washington D.C. sponsored by the Department of Public Policy and Administration and the Department of Political Science and International Relations…
Week number two in this foreign land called Washington D.C. has been super awesome! I have slowly been given more responsibility at my internship, and recently I was trusted to review the language of a bill that will eventually be introduced onto the Senate floor! It really is cool being able to contribute to legislation that not many people know about, but will eventually have a substantial impact on millions of people. I am also getting more and more familiar with the city itself. Getting to all of the famous places (government buildings, museums, parks, etc.) is all coming pretty easily, especially with the simple metro system that D.C. utilizes. And finally, UD continues to send down professors who help contribute to our overall education here in D.C.
