Submitted by Scott Eisenhart on the 2015 winter session program in Washington D.C. sponsored by the Department of Public Policy and Administration and the Department of Political Science and International Relations…
This week was my first week “abroad” here in Washington D.C., and it was certainly a week full of excitement! We are staying in a beautiful part of the city, and we are very close to everything that D.C. has to offer. The days are spent either listening to visiting UD professors talk to us about the various aspects of the American political system, or at our various internships. I personally am working in a Senator’s office, and my days are spent running errands for the office, drafting constituent letters, and researching different policies. At night, our program coordinator brings in different speakers to talk to us about how they acquired their current job, and any advice that they have to share with us. These events are really a great way to network! Overall, I am glad that I decided to participate on this program, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
