This week was a pretty good one. I love my contemporary politics class. The teacher is great and he makes every lecture very interesting. I love it! It has been raining almost every day, but we have been lucky enough to enjoy temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s. I love the February weather in Granada! On Friday, we visited the Museo Cuevas del Sacramonte (Cave-House Museum of the Sacramonte). This museum is not your typical one inside of a building. The museum is outdoors and is divided into 11 separate caves. Each cave has a different theme. For example, one of the caves demonstrates the culture of the flamenco and is decorated with pictures of people dancing flamenco. I learned that flamenco first arose in Andalucía. Awesome right! I don’t have a favorite cave because they all show the history behind the district of the Sacramonte. The view from the museum is an awesome one since you can see the Alhambra and the city.
After we were done with our visit, we decided to walk around the city. Out of nowhere, we saw a bunch of people with umbrellas gathering at Plaza Nueva. We were very confused and wondered what was going on. We were not sure if it had to do with a protest or if it was some type of flash mob. All of a sudden, they started performing/dancing. When they finished their performance, they just walked away and they each went their separate way. We decided to follow them and they ended up performing at another plaza. They were probably part of an acting school, not sure, but it was awesome.
