Courses in London

Submitted by Alexa Hosino on the 2014 spring semester study abroad program in London, England…

This week I was fortunate enough to have two out of class excursions.  On Tuesday, I went to the Tate Britain Museum to look at paintings by JMW Turner and John Constable.  One of my first assignments is to compare and contrast two paintings, one from each artist.  We also got to look at intricate sculptures by John Epstein. On Thursday, I went with my history class to The Museum of London.  Personally, I enjoyed this museum more because there was a wider range of things to look at.  There was a great section of the museum dedicated to the history of fashion in London.  It seems as though everything here is effortlessly glamorous, especially when it comes to fashion.  Despite it being extremely windy this past weekend, the sun actually decided to come out for more than a couple of hours.  I took this rare opportunity to go on a run in Hyde Park; it was beyond beautiful and very refreshing.
