Sydney 360

Submitted by Lauren Tolila on the 2014 winter session program in Australia and New Zealand sponsored by the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics…

I can’t believe that this was our last week in Australia. It was a pretty relaxing week because we had a lot of free time. We had a few company visits and also visited the Walkabout Park. The park was so interesting because kangaroos and emus were able to roam around. The kangaroos were friendly as usual, but the emus were kind of scary and were trying to steal our food. Also, at the park, we learned how to throw boomerangs…I’m not very good at that. This week, some of my friends and I went to the Westfield 360 Spinning Tower. It honestly had the best views of Sydney I’ve ever seen. We stayed until we made a complete 360 and got to see the entire city. Also, we had a big group dinner as a farewell to Sydney. Although the food, three course meal, was absolutely amazing, it was pretty depressing. Still, we had an amazing dinner together eating on the harbour. The views were gorgeous as always. Finally, we spent our last day here on Australia Day!! We spent the day on a cruise on the harbour and decked out in Australian gear. It was so much fun and other Delaware programs were on the cruise with us, too. I don’t know how three weeks have passed already and I’m not ready to leave this beautiful city. We are off to New Zealand and I know that’s going to be another great adventure. I cannot wait to see what’s to come on my last week abroad!!!
