Submitted by Jordyn Levison on the 2014 spring semester study abroad program in London, England…
This week, my roommates and I decided to venture off on our own and explore other boroughs of beautiful London. Because I’m a huge Beatles fan, I knew I had to visit Abbey Road. We woke up early Monday morning and took the tube all the way to St. John’s Wood in the city of Westminster just to be able to walk on the same thoroughfare as John, Paul, George and Ringo once did. Having the opportunity to cross the same path as these rock legends is staggering (and it probably made my Mother extremely envious!). We even passed by Abbey Road Studios and Abbey House, and got to sign our names on the gate arches. This excursion was so worth the commute!
London is such an extraordinary city and I couldn’t imagine studying anywhere else. We’ve explored so much already and it’s only been 2 weeks! We still have so much of London to see, but for this upcoming weekend, we planned a trip to Paris. I can’t wait to try new food (perhaps I’ll even taste some escargot), see some amazing architecture, lounge in some charming cafes and shop in what’s arguably the most fashionable city in the world. And to think that I get to do all this with some incredible friends I’ve met along the way!
