First Week of London Semester Program

Submitted by Nina Kennedy on the 2014 spring semester study abroad program in London, England…

Our first week in London has been nothing short of amazing- amazingly beautiful, amazingly busy, amazingly interesting and amazingly fun.  Most of our time has been spent getting acclimated with our neighborhoods, CAPA, and London as a whole.  We all just keep saying how comfortable we feel here, and it’d be hard not to as Kensington is an incredible neighborhood to live in.  A lot of effort has gone into figuring out the tube system, though we have yet to venture on the bus system. Yesterday, we had our first truly touristy moments when we went on a guided panoramic bus tour of all the big sites.  Seeing Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, St. Paul’s Cathedral and Trafalgar Square was such an awesome experience- and it was only from the bus!  We definitely plan on going back to all of the sites we saw on the tour to take more time to explore!  Today, we went to Camden Market and it was an absolute heaven for any food lovers; they had all different things from a variety of cultures and you could probably walk around for hours and hours without getting bored.  That seems to be a theme of London- never getting bored.  There is so much to see and do and so little time!
