Wow, Spain is beautiful! I have been to Europe once before but never to this country. We have been here for a few days now and I am loving everything from the food to the cobble stone streets. Today, however, was my favorite day so far. I wish I would have been warned about the amount of physical activity it would entail, but I truly cannot complain because the sights were worth every flight of stairs. Our guide Raffa took us to Segovia today, a town about an hour from Madrid. The biggest highlight of the day was our trek to the top of a mountain where we found the castle that King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella once lived in. After climbing 150 stairs up a narrow spiral staircase, we reached the top. Our view was unbelievable as we looked down upon the whole town of Segovia. Ferdinand and Isabella were some very lucky people to wake up to this every morning. It felt like we were on top of the world, up with the clouds. This day will be something I will remember forever, thanks to the wonderful pictures I was able to take.
