From London to Paris

Submitted by Sheila Ward on the 2013 fall semester program in London, England…

This past weekend,  I traveled outside of the UK again. This time,  I went to Paris. I went to Versailles as well as all the typical tourist attractions in Paris itself. I was not expecting to enjoy this trip as much as other trips I have gone on, however I am happy to say this trip is one of my favorites. The city of Paris is so unique from any other city I have visited in Europe. It truly was a surreal and magical experience. One night, we went to the Eiffel Tower and seeing it all lit up was absolutely beautiful.

I am also happy that I got to see Versailles. After learning about it so much in history classes, it was cool to actually visit the palace. The Hall of Mirrors was probably my favorite part of Versailles and it was incredible to see how the entire palace, even outside, was ornately decorated. I will definitely cherish the memories of the time I spent in Paris.
