Weekends in Paris and London

With another week down, so many more amazing memories have been added to my trip. My first weekend traveling was absolutely amazing. Arriving in Paris last Friday at six in the morning gave us the opportunity to truly have a full day of sight-seeing. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to check into our hostel until  four in the afternoon so it forced us to get out and about and explore.  Of course, we started our day with a hearty breakfast of baguettes and crepes. They were delicious. We made our way to the Eiffel Tower and enjoyed the sun while appreciating this world-class landmark. While visiting the Louvre Museum, we got to admire works of art including the famous Mona Lisa! Other landmarks we visited included Lock Bridge and the Arc de Triomphe. My favorite part of the trip was visiting the Eiffel Tower at night. It was lit up and had a very lively atmosphere. The delicious dinner we enjoyed in front of this landmark was easily one of the most memorable things I have ever done.

This week in London was just as great. A field trip to the Parliament building for one of my classes allowed me to check something off my bucket list and get academic credit at the same time. Also, as a requirement of my theater class, I enjoyed a wonderful performance of “A Doll’s House”. I love that CAPA incorporates so many field studies and outside classroom activities as a part of classes. It keeps things very interesting.

This past weekend was a fantastic one as well. The NFL had games in London this weekend. In order to generate publicity for the games there was a free block party all day Saturday. It was a great way to spend a rare sunny day in London. To finish off the weekend, I convinced my friends that a bike ride in Hyde Park was something we absolutely had to do. With such a convenient bike rental system available all throughout London, it was easy to get started. A ride around the park was a great way to roll into another week of class
