Submitted by Sheila Ward on the 2013 fall semester program in London, England…
After patiently waiting all summer, today is finally the day I leave for London! This is my first time taking an international flight and going to Europe, so, as you can imagine, I am quite nervous. I expect to be somewhat homesick while getting adjusted to life in London, but it is not a huge concern of mine. I am most excited to get to know everyone in the program while exploring the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe. I have heard from multiple people that the food in London is not the best, so I am prepared for that, but I am hoping the food is not too bad. It should also be interesting to see how my classes are. I have never taken any long lectures while at Delaware, so I am concerned that all my classes are 3 hours long. However, I have heard from people who have done this study abroad program before, that in some classes you barely meet in the classroom, but instead go to museums, plays, and other sites in London. All in all, I am extremely excited to be spending my fall semester in London and I just can’t wait to get there!
